April 23-24 – Dr. Volkow met with Representative Anne McLane Kuster to discuss opportunities for research aimed at understanding and addressing the opioid crisis in New Hampshire.
July 25, 2019 – Dr. Volkow met with Representative David Trone to discuss NIDA-supported research and the activities of the Freshman Working Group on Addiction.
Legislation of Interest
- H.R. 2740, The House Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, Defense, State, Foreign Operations, and Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act, 2020 passed the House on June 16, 2019.
- A number of bills relevant to marijuana have been introduced in Congress.
- The House and Senate introduced the Stopping Overdoses with Fentanyl Analogues Act, a bill that would place fentanyl-related substances in Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act.
