System must be compatible with 6-384 well plates.
System must come with monochromators that is user-selectable 230-1000nm for absorbance (UV/Vis) and fluorescence module.
System must come with automated pathlength correction and spectral scanning.
System must come with automatic gain regulation.
System must come with top/bottom reading capability with auto Z-focusing in top.
System must come with software with pre-configured protocol for measuring absorbance/ fluorescence, for applications such as ELISA, DNA protein quantitation.
System must come with temperature control (5C to at least 37C) and sample mixing capability (linear/ orbital shaking capability with variable speed and intensity).
Background/Description of Requirement

The purpose of this acquisition is to acquire an multi-mode microplate reader. The molecular Physiology and Biophysics Section (MPBS) focuses on structural and mechanistic studies of ion channel protein. We are currently doing research on generating novel small antibodies from camelids which would be used for stabilizing the proteins for structural studies.  During the discovery phase of this project, we will be performing multitudes of antibody and ligand binding assays on microplates which require a mutli-mode microplate reader for readout of experimental result and data analysis.
