CPDD conference features NIDA Director Dr. Nora Volkow as well as Media Forum

College on Problems of Drug Dependence offers free registration for reporters attending Forum

Dr. Nora Volkow, Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), will deliver a keynote address on the state of addiction research at the annual meeting of the College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD) in San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 15. The conference features 800 presentations by scientists from the United States and other nations, many of them supported by grants from NIDA.  Dr. Volkow will also receive CPDD’s Nathan B. Eddy Award, named after a pioneer in the field of drug dependence.

NOTE: There will be a Media Forum later that week highlighting important new research findings of interest to the media and the general public.

The CPDD Media Forum will be held on Tuesday, June 17 from 1:15 – 2:15 EDT in Ballroom C. All reporters are invited, and conference registration fees are waived for members of the press.
