Record Number of International Events During National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week 2017

Events coordinated by current and former NIDA Hubert H. Humphrey Drug Abuse Research Fellows contributed to the record number of events held around the world during the 2017 NIDA and National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week (NDAFW). There was at least one event in each of the 50 U.S. states and in 17 countries. Participants represented countries of every size and income level, with more than 125 events held in Mexico and more than 50 in Burma (Myanmar).

Call for Abstracts: 3rd International Congress of Clinical and Health Psychology on Children and Adolescents

The 3rd International Congress of Clinical and Health Psychology on Children and Adolescents will be held November 16–18, 2017, in Seville, Spain. The AITANA research group at the Spanish University Miguel Hernández and the University of Seville organize the conference for experts in psychopathology, evaluation, and psychological treatment of children. Participants will share knowledge about child and adolescent psychological well-being, exchange experiences, and strengthen collaborative networks.

Registration Open for 2017 International Events During NDAFW

NIDA and the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) invite international substance abuse professionals to host events during the NIDA/NIAAA National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week (NDAFW), January 23–29, 2017. The international health information program supports locally planned and hosted school and community events that provide teens with scientific facts about drugs and alcohol.

SPR Meeting Features NIDA International Poster Session

The 9th Annual NIDA International Poster Session opened the 2016 annual conference of the Society for Prevention Research (SPR), held in San Francisco, California. SPR President Richard F. Catalano, Jr., Ph.D., University of Washington, and NIDA Prevention Research Branch Acting Chief Bethany Deeds, Ph.D., welcomed presenters and participants. The 25 international posters highlighted drug and alcohol abuse prevention research featuring U.S. collaborations with prevention researchers from 16 nations.
