Supervisory Health Scientist Administrator (Branch Chief) for the Integrative Neuroscience Branch (INB)

DNB is seeking an exceptional, motivated and creative leader to serve as a Supervisory Health Scientist Administrator (Branch Chief) for the Integrative Neuroscience Branch (INB) within the Division of Neuroscience and Behavior.  INB supports research to identify cellular, circuit and synaptic mechanisms underlying the effects of addictive drugs and the trajectory from drug use to addiction, to recovery. The INB Branch Chief will develop and maintain a grant portfolio in this area and support the vision of NIDA to attract the best and brightest researchers and train the next generation of scientists. The Branch Chief guides the overall scientific direction of the Branch and supervises a group of Program Officers to develop scientific initiatives, manage the grant portfolio, organize meetings and to participate in trans-NIH initiatives. The individual, along with program staff will disseminate advances in the area through presentations, workshops, and manuscripts.  NIDA’s ideal candidate should have an MD or PhD in Neuroscience, Pharmacology or a related field and supervisory experience, and demonstrate knowledge and expertise in neuroscience, neuropharmacology, neurobiology and neurophysiology.
