What We Do:

The Division of Extramural Research provides management and oversight on the development, implementation, and coordination of NIDA’s extramural programs, research training, policies, reviews, and operations planning.

Research Interests/Goals:

• Develop, implement, and coordinate NIDA’s extramural programs, policies, reviews, and operations planning
• Provide leadership and advice on scientific priorities and strategic goals for NIDA’s extramural research programs
• Conduct or coordinate with the Center for Scientific Review (CSR) peer review of all NIDA grant applications
• Oversee NIDA’s research training and early career development program
• Lead NIDA’s involvement in vital trans-NIH initiatives
• Coordinate and lead activities of the National Advisory Council on Drug Abuse
