Dr. Jenny Wiley: Most of my work for probably about twenty years has been on cannabinoids and synthetic cannabinoids. These drugs we have used as research tools for many, many years and we have discovered some pretty exciting things about the receptors and the endocannabinoid system, the system in your body that acts like marijuana. One of the reasons that I think that these compounds, probably the most important reason why they are bad, is because we do not know that much about them, particularly what they do in vivo, particularly what they do in humans. Many of the compounds that are showing up on the street right now have never been tested on humans.
