An opportunity for members of the education and science media to interview Dr. Nora D. Volkow, director, National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), National Institutes of Health, about NIDA's science education program and its efforts to reach students, parents, and teachers with free science-based educational materials about drug abuse and addiction. In addition to mailing materials to teachers across the country, NIDA recently launched a Web site, www.teens.drugabuse.gov, designed especially for teens ages 11 to 15.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse is a component of the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NIDA supports more than 85 percent of the world's research on the health aspects of drug abuse and addiction. The Institute carries out a large variety of programs to ensure the rapid dissemination of research information and its implementation in policy and practice.
