Summary
The Special Populations Office, Office of the Director (OD), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) hosted the Substance Abuse, Criminal Justice, and HIV in African Americans Technical Assistance Workshop October 15–16, 2007, in Silver Spring, Maryland. The workshop convened NIDA/SAMHSA staff and NIDA grantees to serve as speakers and mentors to early/new investigators who plan to prepare grant applications for NIDA program announcements related to substance abuse, criminal justice, and HIV/AIDS.
