Ralph
Tarter, Ph.D.
Dr. Tarter directs the NIDA-funded Center
for Education and Drug Abuse Research (CEDAR). Trained as a clinical
neuropsychologist, he has been conducting research for the past three
decades on a variety of topics pertaining to brain-behavior relationships.
Currently, his interests focus on the role of executive cognitive functions
as they relate to the risk for substance abuse. Other facets of investigation
at CEDAR address the psychopathological, family, ecological, genetic,
and behavioral antecedents of substance use and substance use disorders
using a perspective longitudinal design.
