Motivational Interviewing Assessment: Supervisory Tools for Enhancing Proficiency (MIA:STEP)

Findings from the CTN protocol documented that Motivational Interviewing strategies delivered within a single 60-minute session resulted in higher retention rates during the first 28 days of treatment compared to the standard intervention. The MIA:STEP package is a collection of products designed for supervisors to teach counselors in the use of MI skills during clinical assessments and include teaching tools for assessing and enhancing MI Skills, supervisor training curriculum for a 10-hour workshop, supervisor tape rating guide, and English and Spanish demonstration materials.
