Short-Term Opioid Withdrawal Using Buprenorphine

The primary goal of these products is to instruct treatment providers about a unique, 13-day buprenorphine intervention for opioid dependent patients. The CTN protocol compared this 13-day buprenorphine taper intervention to a standard treatment (clonidine detoxification) in both inpatient and outpatient settings. More patients who received buprenorphine were able to provide an opioid negative urine sample upon completion of the intervention when compared to the standard treatment group.
